Q: How will I know how much my order will cost?
A: Just add item(s) to your cart and click on the Checkout button. We will calculate and guarantee the lowest possible order total in Japanese Yen(JPY), including all shipping costs from Japan to the destination country.
On the other hand, Buyer is responsible for their countries Customs regulations, import tax, VAT, shippers brokerage fees, customs fees, etc. Contact your countries customs agency and/or the shipping company (UPS generally) to be advised of any fees before placing your order. We do not estimate or collect any fees in advance other than shipping/handling.

Q: What payment options do you support?
A: Payment shall be made in only PayPal, so you can pay in your preferred currency throgh PayPal.

Q: Who will I contact if I have questions relating to my international order after I have made a purchase?
A: Please contact us by e-mail, and we will gladly assist you with any questions relating to your international order.

Q:When will my order arrive?
A: International Orders are shipped via International Air mail(Japan Post EMS) or Surface(ship) mail.
EMS will take approximately 1week to most countries after shipping from our store, and you can confirm the delivery status by the tracking number on the Japan Post web site. The products of The Japanese pottery & porcelain store are directly from various parts of the potteries in Japan after placing your order. Generally, it totaly takes about 2weeks to be delivery to your house from placing your order.
Surface Mail will take 1 to 3 months. The amount of compensation is very low price and not completely satisfactory, so we highly recommend EMS. Please review the Policy for more information.

Q: The articles in the shipment I received today were broken. Will you compensate for the loss?
A:In case of using EMS, first of all, please contact us by e-mail immediately. We will respond to your e-mail soon. In this case, we will email you how to handle about that accident in detail immediately. Then, you need to inform the your local delivery post office immediately. A post office employee will be dispatched to check the condition of the damaged articles.
According to the reported inspection results, we will take a procedure for loss compensation. Please review the Policy for more information.
We highly recommend EMS. EMS has the compensation that corresponds to the value of your article, and you can trace your items at the tracking site immediately. You can enter the tracking number and track the package for yourself on the Japan Post postal service page.

Q:What if an item arrives broken?
A: We take great care in packaging our products to reduce the chance of damage during shipment. "Japanese pottery and porcelain online shop RIMPA" takes great pride in packaging and shipping your purchase so it will arrive at your home or business safely. Only the highest quality packing materials and boxes are used to protect your purchases while they are en route. Any item that is damaged during shipment will be replaced or your purchase price provided you do the following the conditions only for using EMS, as described "Policy" only for using EMS.

Please note:
After receiving the package, open and check the products conditions. In the event that an item arrives damaged, please contact us immediately. Please e-mail us within 24hours after receiving. You can reach us by e-mail at info@pottery-porcelain-japan.com . Do not ship back any items. Unless you follow the regulations, we cannot refund your purchase price at all.
When the item is damaged and delivered to you, you have to preserve the postal item in the current condition and make a statement regarding damaged item at your nearest Post Office by yourself immediately. At the same time, "Japanese pottery and porcelain online shop RIMPA" submits the document to Japan Post. Thus, In the unlikely event of damage (or loss) of your package, we need 2kind of documents, both your statement for your near local Post Office and for the Japan Post.

Q:The items I purchased is deeper(lighter) in color than the pictures listed on the website.
A: Every merchandise we deal in is handmade thing or handmade parts. Therefore, the colors are a little different from each ones owing to the property of the products. Also, there are some differences from the pictures on our store, but we sell only best items which we select severely from among the several Japanese potteries.
We will e-mail you to show your purchased items by attached fails before shipping to you.
(These cases of differences in subtle colors are not subject to returned items.)

Q:What material does "Japanese pottery and porcelain online shop RIMPA" use to make dinnerware?
A:We have used earthenware, stoneware, porcelain and bone china at some point in our history. Our current dinnerware patterns are made primarily of porcelain (earthnware).
